Side-by-Side Scrubber Specs
Form Factor
The SUNMAX 34-Inch Self-Propelled Floor Scrubber requires you to walk alongside the machine. It moves forward at a maximum speed of 3.4 MPH. This design keeps you active while the unit handles the heavy lifting. In contrast, the SUNMAX 22-Inch Ride-On Floor Scrubber lets you sit on the deck. You steer while seated, which reduces physical fatigue during long shifts. Both options serve commercial spaces, but the ride-on model offers a more relaxed operating posture for extended periods of use.
Cleaning Width
Coverage speed depends heavily on the brush path. The SUNMAX 34-Inch model features a 34-inch cleaning path. This wider brush covers more ground with each pass. The SUNMAX 22-Inch Ride-On Floor Scrubber has a 22-inch cleaning width. The 34-inch machine covers 12 more inches per pass. This difference means the self-propelled unit can clean large warehouse floors faster. You will need fewer passes to cover the same area with the larger scrubber.
Tank Capacity
Water capacity affects how often you must stop to refill or empty tanks. The SUNMAX 34-Inch Self-Propelled Floor Scrubber holds 31.7 gallons of solution and 33 gallons of recovery water. The SUNMAX 22-Inch Ride-On Floor Scrubber has dual 18.5-gallon tanks. The 34-inch unit holds significantly more liquid. This allows for longer continuous cleaning sessions before maintenance interruptions. If you are cleaning a massive facility, the larger tanks on the 34-inch model reduce downtime.
Motor Power
Brush pressure and suction strength determine cleaning intensity. The SUNMAX 34-Inch Self-Propelled Floor Scrubber uses a 1.34 hp suction motor. It also applies up to 110 lbs of brush pressure at 200 RPM. The SUNMAX 22-Inch Ride-On Floor Scrubber data does not list specific motor horsepower or brush pressure. Without these specs, you cannot directly compare the scrubbing force. However, the 34-inch model explicitly states its high-pressure capabilities for tough dirt removal.
Runtime
Battery life determines how long you can work without recharging. The SUNMAX 22-Inch Ride-On Floor Scrubber supports up to 5 hours of continuous runtime. This is ideal for all-day shifts in large facilities. The SUNMAX 34-Inch Self-Propelled Floor Scrubber data does not specify a battery runtime. It may rely on different power constraints or operational limits. If uninterrupted hours are critical for your workflow, the ride-on model offers a verified five-hour window.
Which SUNMAX Floor Scrubber Fits Your Needs
Large warehouse managers needing high throughput
The 34-inch self-propelled model covers 75,000 square feet per hour. Its wider 34-inch cleaning path and 38.8-inch squeegee width handle expansive floors efficiently. The larger 33-gallon recovery tank and 31.7-gallon solution tank reduce refill frequency. You benefit from the 1.34 hp suction motor and 200 RPM brush speed for thorough dirt removal in large commercial spaces.
Facilities prioritizing operator comfort and endurance
The ride-on design allows you to sit while cleaning, reducing physical fatigue during long shifts. It offers up to 5 hours of continuous runtime on battery power, eliminating cord constraints. The 22-inch scrubbing path with a 31.5-inch squeegee cleans effectively in one pass. This model weighs 400 pounds, making it lighter and more maneuverable for tight commercial environments.
Users with limited storage space or weight limits
The ride-on unit is significantly lighter at 400 pounds compared to the 605-pound self-propelled model. Its compact dimensions of 52 inches in length and 25 inches in width fit easier into smaller storage areas. Despite its smaller size, it maintains dual 18.5-gallon tanks for consistent cleaning performance without requiring excessive floor space for operation or storage.
