Power Source and Runtime Comparison
Power Source
The SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber relies on 110V corded electricity with a 26.25-foot power cord. This setup ensures continuous operation without waiting for batteries to recharge, making it suitable for environments where power outlets are readily accessible. In contrast, the SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber uses a 24V/52Ah maintenance-free lithium battery. This cordless design offers mobility and reduces the hassle of managing cords in tight spaces. You choose between uninterrupted power from a wall outlet or the freedom of battery operation depending on your facility's layout.
Runtime and Charging
Corded operation means the SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber can run indefinitely as long as it remains plugged in. There is no runtime limit or charging downtime to plan around. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber provides up to 2.5 hours of cordless operation on a single charge. It requires approximately 3.5 hours to fully recharge the lithium battery. If your cleaning tasks exceed two hours or you need to move between areas without outlets, the compact model’s battery runtime may require planning. For long, uninterrupted shifts near power sources, the corded unit holds an advantage.
Physical Dimensions
Size matters when navigating narrow aisles or storing equipment. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber measures 27.6 inches in length, 18.2 inches in width, and 41.4 inches in height. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber is slightly longer at 44 inches, with a width of 19 inches and a height of 38 inches. The corded model is more compact in length and width, potentially making it easier to maneuver in tighter commercial spaces like boutiques or clinics. The compact model is taller but extends further forward, which may affect storage requirements in small utility closets.
Weight and Maneuverability
Weight impacts how easily you can push and turn the machine during daily use. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber weighs 116 pounds. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber is heavier at 132 pounds. The lighter corded model may be easier to handle for extended periods or for operators who need to reposition the machine frequently. The additional weight of the compact model, likely due to its lithium battery, could provide more stability during scrubbing but might require more physical effort to maneuver, especially in confined areas or when lifting it for maintenance.
Squeegee Width
The squeegee width determines how much dirty water is recovered in a single pass. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber features a 17.8-inch squeegee. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber includes an 18-inch squeegee. While both are very close in size, the compact model offers a slightly wider recovery path. This small difference may help it pick up more standing water per pass, potentially improving drying times on large hard floors. For most commercial applications, both widths are sufficient, but the compact model has a marginal advantage in recovery coverage.
Display and Monitoring
Both machines feature digital LCD displays to help you monitor performance and troubleshoot issues. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Corded Floor Scrubber’s display shows working status and error codes for quick diagnosis. The SUNMAX 14-Inch Compact Floor Scrubber offers more detailed real-time monitoring, including operating time, brush status, vacuum status, water levels, and battery status. This comprehensive data allows you to manage cleaning tasks more precisely and identify alerts before they become problems. The compact model’s display provides greater insight into machine health and operational metrics.
