How to choose the right one
-
Match hose length to reach
Check the hose length before buying. Longer hoses let you clean under low furniture without bending. The EDIC Galaxy Carpet Tool Kit includes a 25-foot hose for extended reach. This is ideal if you frequently clean under sofas or beds. Shorter hoses offer less reach but may be easier to store. Decide if extra reach is necessary for your space. The 25-foot option suits those who need to reach deep under heavy items. Evaluate your furniture clearance to determine the right length for your home.
-
Choose form factor wisely
Select the form factor that matches your cleaning style. The EDIC 12-inch Portable Carpet Wand is designed for portable extractors. It provides a straightforward setup for standard portable cleaning tasks. This form factor is suitable for users who prefer compact tools. It offers the necessary width for standard cleaning jobs. Consider how you store your machine. Portable wands are easier to handle for quick tasks. Fixed tool kits may be bulkier but offer more durability. Pick the form that fits your workflow best.
-
Verify model compatibility
Ensure the accessory fits your specific Galaxy machine. Both EDIC options are designed for Galaxy owners. The Galaxy Carpet Tool Kit is a practical upgrade for these units. The 12-inch wand is also compatible with Galaxy portable extractors. Check your machine model before purchasing. Incompatible parts can waste time and money. The specifications list the model numbers for each accessory. Match your machine to the correct accessory model. This ensures a secure fit and proper function. Always double-check the model number on your device.
-
Assess tube durability
Look for durable materials in the tool kit. The EDIC Galaxy Carpet Tool Kit features a stainless steel tube. Stainless steel offers better durability than plastic options. It resists bending and cracking during use. This is important for long-term reliability. If you clean frequently, a sturdy tube is essential. The portable wand may have different material properties. Compare the construction of each accessory. A durable tube ensures consistent performance over time. Invest in materials that withstand regular cleaning demands.
-
Consider color and visibility
Check the color of the accessory for visibility. The EDIC Galaxy Carpet Tool Kit is multicolor. The 12-inch wand is reddish-maroon. Brighter colors can help you locate the tool quickly. This is useful in large or cluttered spaces. It also helps you see the tool on dark carpets. While not a performance spec, visibility aids convenience. Consider where you store your cleaning equipment. A distinct color makes retrieval faster. Evaluate if color matters for your storage habits.
