Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Upright Carpet Cleaner Alternatives: 6 Similar Picks Compared

How these models compare to Shark

Shark CarpetXpert Upright Stain Cleaner

The Shark CarpetXpert Upright Stain Cleaner (EX151) shares the upright form factor and dual tank system with the HairPro, ensuring clean water stays separate from dirty water. It weighs 17 pounds, making it lighter than the 20.7-pound HairPro. This model focuses on multi-surface cleaning with a built-in spot remover, whereas the HairPro emphasizes deep pet hair removal without clogs. The EX151 is slightly narrower at 12 inches wide compared to the HairPro’s 15-inch length, offering a more compact footprint. If you need versatile tool attachments for stairs and upholstery alongside carpet care, this budget-friendly option provides that convenience. However, it lacks the specific HairPro brushroll technology designed to prevent hair tangling. You should pick this if your primary goal is general stain removal and whole-home maintenance rather than specialized pet hair extraction.

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet (1548F) is an upright cleaner that weighs 17.5 pounds, similar to the lighter Shark alternatives but lighter than the HairPro. It targets pet owners needing effective stain removal on carpets and hard-to-reach areas. Unlike the HairPro’s HairPro Technology, which uses a specialized brushroll to prevent hair wrap, the Bissell relies on dual brushes for cleaning power. The Bissell model is 12.5 inches wide, slightly wider than the EX151, and matches the HairPro’s height of 43.5 inches. It is suitable for homes with mixed cleaning needs due to its specialized tools. If you prefer a lightweight design with targeted stain removal capabilities over the HairPro’s high-pressure spray system, this model is a practical choice. It does not explicitly mention odor elimination features like the HairPro, focusing instead on physical stain and hair removal through mechanical brushing.

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner

This Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet (1548) shares the same physical specifications as the previous Bissell model, weighing 17.5 pounds and measuring 12.5 inches wide. It is categorized as the best premium option, focusing on targeted stain removal. Like the HairPro, it is designed for pet owners, but it emphasizes lightweight maneuverability for tackling tough stains on carpets and upholstery. The HairPro uses a dual tank system and high-pressure spray to penetrate deep into fibers, while this Bissell model relies on its dual brushes and specialized tools for cleaning. It lacks the specific HairPro Technology that prevents clogs and hair wrap on the brushroll. If you need a versatile tool for both carpets and upholstery without the bulk of a heavier machine, this is a strong alternative. It offers targeted power but may not provide the same deep-cleaning suction or fast-drying benefits as the HairPro’s PowerSpray technology.

Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Shark CarpetXpert Upright Cleaner (EX150) is another upright model from Shark, weighing 17 pounds and measuring 12 inches wide. It shares the upright form factor and dual tank system with the HairPro, ensuring clean water separation. This model is specifically designed for pet stain removal on stairs and upholstery, featuring a built-in spot remover. Unlike the HairPro, which focuses on wall-to-wall carpet cleaning with HairPro Technology, the EX150 targets smaller, hard-to-reach areas. It is significantly lighter and narrower than the HairPro, making it easier to maneuver for spot cleaning. If your primary need is cleaning upholstery and stairs rather than large carpeted areas, this model is more suitable. It lacks the high-pressure spray and ultra-powerful suction designed for deep carpet fibers in the HairPro. You should choose this if you need a compact solution for pet accidents on non-carpet surfaces.

BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL Upright Carpet Cleaner

The BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL (3746) is an upright cleaner with a 10-inch cleaning path, which is narrower than the HairPro’s effective width. It weighs 17 pounds, making it lighter than the 20.7-pound HairPro. This model emphasizes maneuverability and targeted cleaning accessories, including convenient handheld tools. Unlike the HairPro’s HairPro Technology, which prevents hair wrap and clogs, the Bissell focuses on efficient pet stain removal with its specialized attachments. It is suitable for buyers who value tool versatility over large water capacity or deep-cleaning suction power. The Bissell does not mention a dual tank system, which the HairPro uses to prevent spreading dirt. If you need a lightweight option with extensive tool attachments for stairs and upholstery, this is a good choice. However, it may not provide the same deep fiber cleaning or fast-drying results as the HairPro’s high-pressure spray system.

Bissell TurboClean Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Bissell TurboClean Pet (3948) is a compact upright cleaner weighing only 14 pounds, significantly lighter than the 20.7-pound HairPro. It measures 16.3 inches wide and 22 inches high, offering a smaller footprint for storage. This model is designed for small spaces and upholstery cleaning, with a compatible surface list that includes upholstery. Unlike the HairPro, which is built for deep carpet cleaning with high-pressure spray and dual tanks, this Bissell focuses on lightweight, targeted cleaning. It lacks the HairPro’s specific pet hair removal technology and odor elimination features. The smaller size makes it easier to handle and store, but it may not be suitable for large wall-to-wall carpet cleaning. If you need a versatile tool for both carpets and upholstery in a compact package, this model is ideal. It sacrifices the deep-cleaning power and large water capacity of the HairPro for maneuverability and space efficiency.
