6 Best Alternatives to the Shark CarpetForce Lightweight Upright Carpet Cleaner (2026)

How Alternatives Compare

Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet Cleaner weighs 17 pounds, which is slightly heavier than the 15.2-pound CarpetForce. It measures 12 inches wide compared to the 10.4-inch width of the original. This model targets upholstery and pet stains, offering versatility the CarpetForce lacks. You get a compatible surface range that includes upholstery, making it better for multi-surface homes. The height is similar at 43.5 inches. If you need to clean stairs or furniture alongside carpets, this upright option provides the necessary attachment capabilities. It sacrifices some portability for broader cleaning targets, fitting users who prioritize stain removal on non-carpet surfaces over lightweight maneuverability.

Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Upright Carpet Cleaner is a compact upright that weighs 20.7 pounds. This is significantly heavier than the 15.2-pound Shark CarpetForce. It measures 15 inches in length and 14.2 inches in height, with a width of 44.1 inches. This model is designed for pet hair removal and odor extraction. You trade the lightweight design of the original for more robust power and specialized brushes for hair. The compact size helps with storage, but the added weight may affect ease of use. If you have heavy pet hair issues and do not mind the extra heft, this cleaner offers targeted performance for pet owners who need deep extraction capabilities beyond standard carpet maintenance.

Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner

The Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner weighs only 12.5 pounds, making it lighter than the 15.2-pound Shark CarpetForce. It shares a similar 10.1-inch width and 43.5-inch height. This compact form factor is ideal for tight spaces and small messes. You get a specialized focus on pet messes with a lightweight design that enhances portability. The trade-off is that it is built for quick cleanups rather than heavy-duty deep cleaning. If you prioritize easy storage and fast drying over extensive scrubbing power, this cleaner is a practical choice. It fits buyers who need a portable tool for spot cleaning in apartments or small rooms without the bulk of a full-size upright machine.

BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL Upright Carpet Cleaner

The BISSELL TurboClean Pet XL Upright Carpet Cleaner weighs 17 pounds, which is heavier than the 15.2-pound Shark CarpetForce. It has a 12-inch width and measures 16.4 inches in length. This model features a 10-inch clean path, which is slightly wider than the original. It is designed for pet owners who need large tank capacity to reduce refill trips. You gain increased efficiency for larger areas but lose some of the compact maneuverability of the lighter Shark model. The upright design includes tools for upholstery, similar to other pet-focused cleaners. If you clean large carpeted areas frequently and want to minimize maintenance stops, this XL capacity model offers a balanced solution for sustained cleaning sessions.

Bissell TurboClean Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner

The Bissell TurboClean Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner weighs 14 pounds, making it slightly lighter than the 15.2-pound Shark CarpetForce. It measures 10.6 inches in length and 16.3 inches in width, with a height of 22 inches. This compact upright design is tailored for pet mess removal and includes tools for upholstery. You get a focused cleaning experience for households with pets, prioritizing power brush performance. The height difference suggests a different handling profile, potentially affecting reach. If you need a lightweight upright for regular maintenance and upholstery cleaning, this model offers a targeted approach. It gives up the specific Express Clean mode features of the Shark in favor of dedicated pet stain removal capabilities.

Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner

The Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner weighs 16.3 pounds, which is slightly heavier than the 15.2-pound Shark CarpetForce. It shares a similar 10.1-inch width and 43.5-inch height. This compact, lightweight cleaner is designed for home use and apartment dwellers. It focuses on quick cleanups and pet messes in tight spaces. You get a multi-surface tool that is easy to store but lacks the deep cleaning power of larger uprights. The trade-off is reduced capacity and scrubbing intensity for enhanced portability. If you rent or have limited storage, this advanced compact model provides a practical solution for spot cleaning. It suits users who need a reliable, lightweight device for frequent, small-scale maintenance rather than whole-carpet resets.
